Like the first part of “A selection of Rabindranath Tagore’s poems - translated by Bipul Bardhan-Roy” – the second part, too, presents all the translations in rhyming verse, in keeping with the original Bengali versions. A solitary exception is the poem “The Red Swamps” taken from the book PUNASCHA – which Tagore himself wrote in free verse.
The translator has also attempted to keep the rhyming lines virtually of the same length. These two factors add to the charm and spirit of reading these translated poems. The translator has tried to make the translation in these books accessible to all without loosing the overall theme or the inner messages of the originals.
